Where Crafted Call Works

Crafted Call is not limited to organizations in the United States. This article covers which countries can take payments, which currencies you can price in, what Australian and New Zealand organizations get today, and what currency your own subscription is billed in.

Countries that can take payments

To collect submission fees or sell work, your organization needs a payout account. Crafted Call can create one for organizations in these countries:

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States.

Your payout account's country is permanent once the account is created, so set your organization's country before you connect payments. See Connecting Stripe for Payments.

You can run calls, review submissions, and manage exhibitions from anywhere. Only the money side depends on the list above.

Currencies you can price in

Your organization has one base currency, and it is the default for every new call. Eight are available:

• Australian dollar (AUD)
• Canadian dollar (CAD)
• Euro (EUR)
• New Zealand dollar (NZD)
• Pound sterling (GBP)
• Swiss franc (CHF)
• United Arab Emirates dirham (AED)
• United States dollar (USD)

An individual call can use a different currency when you turn on the currency override for that call. Set your base currency in Settings, Organization, in the Localization section. See Localization and Currency Settings.

Australia

Australian organizations run on Crafted Call end to end. GST is quoted on submission fees at 10 percent, itemized on payment and refund receipts, and totalled in the tax period report. You record your legal name, Australian Business Number, and GST registration status in your Australian tax profile, and Crafted Call re-checks that registration against the Australian Business Register every day.

Dates, times, and printed documents follow Australian conventions. Addresses ask for Suburb, State or Territory, and Postcode, and pages print on A4 by default.

New Zealand

New Zealand organizations can set New Zealand dollars as their base currency and get local conventions: an en-NZ locale, metric measurements, A4 paper, and the Pacific/Auckland timezone filled in by default. Addresses ask for City, Region, and Postcode.
