Artist Statement

My process is intuitive and deeply symbolic. Throughout these narrative compositions, I weave a dedicated vocabulary of traditional symbols—including the all-seeing eye, ancient runes, time-keeping elements, and pollinators—to explore the environmental and seasonal impermanence that mirrors the changes we undergo throughout a human life. My current work focuses on themes of eco-spirituality and biological networks, blending traditional symbols with deeply environmental narratives. Original pieces are always available for purchase and are held in private collections across the country.

About the Artist

I was born and raised in Western Massachusetts, spending my formative years outdoors drawing and painting the surrounding farms and forests. This early immersion fostered a deep, lifelong connection to the natural world. Following a rigorous, traditional art training at the Paier College of Art, I spent many years working as a graphic designer, art director, and illustrator across Boston and New Hampshire while continuously maintaining my painting practice. As a lifelong gardener and outdoor enthusiast, I believe our connection to nature is fundamental to our collective health, well-being, and understanding of who we are. My large-scale, imaginary realism paintings speak directly to our current societal relationship with the environment. They are designed to encompass the viewer, creating an intimate space that illuminates the delicate intersection of reality, perception, and time. After a necessary sabbatical focused on health and family, I have returned to my studio with a sharpened, mature clarity. This new chapter of my work is anchored by my latest series, The Inextricable Now (also explored as the World Wide Thread). Inspired by deep research into the Earth's underground mycelial networks, these paintings serve as a visual call to action: a reminder that humanity must consciously care for nature if we are to survive. As an exhibiting an artist of over 40 years, paintings have been included in many juried exhibits throughout New England and beyond. My paintings are held in private collections throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.
