I have been creating art since I was nine, driven by my curiosity about abstract forms and colors. Growing up, I faced challenges while encountering many talented painters who mastered the twelve essential painting techniques, which I'm still working to master. I find joy in the creative process, letting my passion guide me without a perfect vision at the start. In my late twenties to early thirties, I began creating mosaics using ink, watercolor, acrylic, and oil on canvas, sometimes utilizing Japanese sketch paper for its texture. My passion for art has never wavered, influenced by the great artists | studied. After relocating to Tennessee and studying various art forms, I decided to pursue art at Austin Peay State University before later shifting to business studies, believing it essential for managing my own gallery. I now hold a Bachelor of Science in Management and Organizational Development from Bethel University. I moved to Tennessee from Connecticut in 2001, initially residing in Clarksville before exploring other parts of the state. Currently, I live in Dickson, TN. During my travels, I built my portfolio and exhibited in various galleries and venues that welcomed my art. I cherish the time and effort I invest in painting my own abstracts, each infused with sentiments and dramatic stories. Every place I've visited and every experience I've had contributed to my artistic journey, resulting in a canvas and collage of memories tied together by my unique style and technique. I continually work on new titles and series, focusing on providing vibrant colors to express my abstract vision. Lately, I have been particularly interested in the concept of "faith." This has led me to recycle some of my canvases, creating effective and intriguing subjects that highlight the expression of color. I use a variety of mediums—watercolor, acrylic, oil, and mixed media-drawing inspiration from wherever my thoughts take me. Because my work is abstract, I believe that every canvas has an ongoing story to tell. I find it fascinating when people view my creations, often pondering the underlying questions that my art evokes. To me, abstract art is always narrative, regardless of how it is made. Seeing how the paint washes over my canvases and the outcome is incredibly rewarding. As a diverse artist, I embrace my unique style. Coming from a large family, I have been inspired by their many beautiful personalities. My experiences, particularly related to my ethnicity and heritage, have taught me that being an artist from another country presents its own challenges. Nonetheless, I continue to work hard, considering myself a self-taught artist who embraces whatever strikes my imagination. Creativity is my greatest passion, and capturing the beauty hidden beneath the colors on my canvas is a driving force. "Whatever comes to mind."
“Water comes to mind”, For me, abstract art is a continuous journey where a story on a canvas never end. Moving from another country brought unique challenges, but it also gifted me a diverse perspective. My work is heavily inspired by my large, multicultural family and their unique personalities, which taught me to see the world through vibrant colors of love. I am fascinated by the curiosity of the viewer. To me, abstract art always holds a deeper story, and seeing the final outcome of a fluid color wash makes every moment of the creative process worthwhile.
